Mukherjee argues that the reasons for what seems to be the rarity of incidents of cancer in the distant past compared to today are all of the following except:
Mukherj
a. Cancer is an age
related disease--more people are living long enough to get cancer.
b. The capacity to
detect cancer earlier and to attribute deaths to it has increased.
c. Technological
progress and changes in social habits have radically shifted the spectrum of
cancers.
d. Cancer was
submerged under a host of other illnesses that claimed lives before cancer
could surface.
e. The presence of
more environmental influences provides more opportunity for cancer to develop.
Here's another in the form of short answer:
Relay the narrative that Mukherjee shares concerning the discovery of X-Rays.
Hopefully, that will make up for things.
The next post will cover enough pages to be back on the official seven page per day schedule. I will try not to let this happen again.....ahhhhh, summer.
I'm equally guilty... I abandoned you too. Why is it that summer seems even busier than the school year? I feel like I have no time, even without 8 hours of my day devoted to school alone. Maybe I can redeem myself by answering the test question correctly?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know for sure it's not A, B, or D. Those I remember. But C or E... I'm leaning towards C, but I'm not 100% sure. But if I was taking the test and feeling pressured for time to move on to the next question, I'd go with C.
Oh, no, not short answer! How many of those will we get? Speaking of which, do we get to know how many multiple choice? Let's see...
Wilhelm Rontgen discovered x-rays almost by accident. Rontgen discovered a leakage in an electron tube that emitted powerful energy. The energy cause a piece of equipment left out overnight to glow. Rontgen had his wife [I can't remember her name! Ahhh!] place her hand behind the leakage, and the shadow of her bones and wedding ring appeared on a screen. Rontgen named the new energy waves "x-rays".
Too short? Too long? Looking back at the section on x-rays, I wonder if should have gone into the Curies.
Yeah, summer... almost gone...
Summer does get filled up so fast. I am also finishing up coursework so I can actually remain your teacher in the fall. Great job on the short answer, kiddo. More later.
