How did this day come so quickly?
If you are going to tread this path with me this summer, then today you should read all of the pages that contain quotations as a preface to the book, the Author's Note and the Prologue. This puts us just over the seven page a day requirement, but it seems to me a more natural "chunk" of text to discuss. (I really hope there is some discussion this year.)
I am going to try to post something a little fancy later in the day today so that you can compare the content that you gleaned from these pages with the content that seemed noteworthy to me. So, go read your pages, and then, I am thinking it would be safe for you to look for another post maybe right after dinner before you head out for your fun summer evening activities.
If you were going to try to practice one of the reading strategies that we discussed at the workshop, I think "previewing the text" might be a natural choice for today.
More later.
Warmly,
Mrs. McAllister
